1. Introduction

Glenmore Technologies Pty Ltd (Reg No: 2017/474704/07) operates Marketplace SA at marketplace.glenmoretechnologies.co.za. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information. By registering an account you consent to this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect your full name and email address when you register an account; business name, service type, rate, city, WhatsApp number, and description when you register as a provider; booking information including preferred dates and times; and contact form submissions.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to create and manage your account, facilitate bookings between clients and providers, send booking and payment confirmation emails, display your business listing to potential clients, improve the platform, and comply with our legal obligations under POPIA and the ECT Act.

4. Third-Party Data Processors

We share data with the following processors who are contractually bound to process data securely: Supabase Inc (database hosting — servers may be located outside South Africa); Resend Inc (transactional email delivery); PayFast (Pty) Ltd (payment processing — South Africa); and Vercel Inc (web hosting). Where data is transferred outside South Africa, we ensure adequate protection is in place as required by POPIA Section 72.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed from our systems within 30 days. Anonymised and aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes. Financial transaction records are retained for 5 years as required by South African tax law.

6. Your Rights Under POPIA

You have the right to: access your personal information; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your personal information (right to erasure); object to the processing of your information; and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator. To exercise any of these rights, email info@glenmoretechnologies.co.za. You may also delete your account directly from your dashboard settings.

7. Data Security

We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, secure database hosting via Supabase with role-based access controls, and restricted access to production systems. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.

8. Cookies

We use session cookies for authentication purposes only. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, however this may affect platform functionality.

9. Complaints

To lodge a complaint about how we handle your personal information, email info@glenmoretechnologies.co.za with subject line PRIVACY COMPLAINT. We will respond within 5 business days. You may also contact the Information Regulator directly at inforeg@justice.gov.za or www.inforegulator.org.za.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
